We're Building Our Next Team of Student Ministry Interns!
Coming Summer 2017...
YOUTH MINISTRY INTERNSHIPS (20 HOURS/WEEK)
We are looking for individuals with a love for Christ, a love for students, and a desire to explore their sense of calling to ministry. This internship is ideal for a college graduate who is contemplating vocational ministry with students. Community Presbyterian Church is a vibrant, evangelical church located in Danville, in the East Bay Area of Northern California. We care deeply about students and are seeking to add to our ministry team individuals who are passionate about seeing students becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This internship is available to start in early or late summer. Below you will find more details about this opportunity.
THREE DESIRED OUTCOMES FOR YOUR INTERNSHIP
1. Exploring a Call to Ministry
Part of your goal is to gain greater clarity on your gifts, strengths, and passions for ministry. Those elements of who God has made you to be grow clearer as you step into new opportunities to serve. In fact, a vital part of the discernment process is simply daring to try something new. Our hope is that through your internship you will further discern, clarify, or affirm whether you are called to ministry with students.
2. Growing in Ministry
This internship is intended to help you grow in your gifts, strengths, and abilities for ministry. This happens through weekly training, intentional learning opportunities, the experience you will gain by taking on new roles and responsibilities, and assigned reading and responses that will help you develop your theology of ministry.
3. Serving in Ministry
The hope of this internship is that you would be supported to invest your time, energy, and heart in the work of real-life, relational ministry to students. You will be caring for students on Christ's behalf and sharing His truth and love with them, strengthening and building up the church through your ministry.
*(Musical abilities and worship leading experience a plus!)
You will be assigned to either the Middle School or High School ministry and you will report directly to the Director over that area of ministry, under the overall supervision of the Student Ministries Pastor. You will meet weekly one-on-one with your director, and occasionally with the Pastor as needed or desired.
20 hours per week, set by the intern in consultation with the Director. It is assumed that these hours will include the intern's regular participation in the weekly programs of the ministry that he or she serves. However, these hours do not include time spent in study for outside coursework.
