CPC will begin a new training class of Stephen Ministers soon. You will receive awesome training on a variety of topics such as compassionate listening, Christian assertiveness, maintaining boundaries in caregiving, and grief. The training is distinctively Christian and focuses on God as the one who cures as we care.

What Is a Stephen Minister?
- Are you passionate about caring for other people?
- Are you touched when a person shares their struggles?
- Do other people describe you as a caring person or good listener?
- Do you find yourself sharing the love of Christ by helping a neighbor or coworker through a challenging time?
If you answered “yes” to any of the above, then you are sharing the work of Stephen Ministers.
Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained to provide one-on-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.
Stephen Ministers are extensively trained in distinctively Christian caregiving using skills such as compassionate listening, Christian assertiveness and maintaining boundaries in caregiving.
