Deacon Services
The Deacons are officers of the church who are called to serve both CPC and the community in a variety of ways. To request services, contact the church office at (925) 837-5525 unless otherwise noted.
CARE IN DIFFICULT TIMES
The Deacons’ Fund: Thanks to the generosity of our members, the Deacons are able to provide one-time financial gifts to help families or individuals with critical needs, such as food, rent, and utilities, in times of crisis. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with established guidelines.
Visitation: Friendship Callers are available to visit homebound or isolated individuals to offer prayer and companionship.
CARE IN THE SEASONS OF LIFE
Celebrate the Birth or Adoption of a Child: The Deacons have a gift to share with parents upon the arrival of a new child.
Holiday Gift Baskets: The Deacons deliver Holiday baskets to those in need of encouragement.
Memorials: The Memorials Committee serves families who have experienced a death in the family by assisting with the coordination of the memorial service and a simple reception afterwards. The Deacons provide greeters, ushers, and guest book attendant for the service as needed. Contact Pastor Heidi Johnson at (925) 855-1367 x215.
CARE FOR THE CHURCH
Chancel Stewardship Committee: The Chancel Committee prepares the elements for God’s people to worship through the Sacrament of Communion.
Senior Worship Ministry Committee: The Senior Worship Committee brings Christ’s love to area senior communities by leading regularly scheduled worship services at four local special care facilities for the elderly.
