CPC Video Café exists first and foremost as a worship service to God our King. Every service is dedicated to proclaiming salvation and a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Savior. This is the goal of every worship service at CPC, but what is specifically unique about the Video Café Worship Venue is the method of communication and the atmosphere in which the Gospel is presented. There are many people today that are turned off by traditional church services, either because they’ve been hurt by a church or because of preconceived ideas of God and the church as a whole. One main goal of the Video Café is to welcome all to "come as they are" and where they are in life. We desire the Video Café Service to be a safe haven for these people as well as for all those who desire this type of worship experience, while at the same time proclaiming the truth in love that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, the only source of salvation.
Some methods used to accomplish these goals are:
- Friendly faces, warm greetings, hot coffee and bagels to help create a warm and welcoming café environment.
- Christ centered music that is stylistically and culturally relevant, (pop/rock/alternative) but balances passion and intensity with intimacy and reverence.
- Décor and lighting that help create a warm and intimate ambiance that is relaxed yet reverent.
- Sound mixing that is conducive to a live band setting and further assists creative efforts.
The “video sermon” portion of the Video Café is an effective source of communication in this service, because much of the world today is more familiar with video communication than in the past. Although a video may seem impersonal to some, it is balanced by a caring and very personal host pastor, Ben Joyce, who puts a face and personality to what CPC is all about. With authenticity and love the pastors of CPC address the real life concerns and struggles people face from day to day. They acknowledge the truth that we are all facing similar issues together, yet communicate the fact that Christ is the one and only way to find completion and true fulfillment on this journey of life, the only road to right relationship with the Father.
All in all, the desire of the Video Café is to be a service that is culturally relevant, theologically rich, and infused with spiritual vitality.
