Nancy Groeneveld
The members of the Search Committee and the Session of CPC are pleased to announce with great joy the unanimous selection of Nancy Groeneveld as our new Minister of Worship and the Arts for CPC. We appreciate the congregation’s input and prayerful support during the selection process.
Nancy and her husband Bram and son Ryan (10) currently reside in Madison, Wisconsin. For the past 12 years Nancy has served the Lord as the Director of Music and Worship at High Point Church in Madison, Wisconsin.
Under Nancy’s leadership, High Point’s worship style has evolved to a point where it closely parallels CPC’s program where contemporary and traditional elements are combined. In recent years, they have very successfully taken traditional hymns and put them in settings that allow their truths to be communicated to our contemporary society. In addition, Nancy has engaged her congregation in a number of very successful bridge building outreach programs to the community, most notably an annual Christmas musical involving 350 volunteers for an audience of 6,000 people.
Nancy’s experience has been diverse, as she personally has enjoyed and worked in a wide variety of musical styles. Her formal musical training is in the area of vocal education, conducting, and classical piano. She is an accomplished musician and educator, and has many years of experience as a teacher. She has formed and led a wide variety of vocal and instrumental groups, in genres ranging from jazz to classical. She has been a featured clinician at musical seminars in North America and in Europe, and has taught classes in worship leading, keyboard techniques, and songwriting.
Nancy was not seeking a new position but responded to what she felt was God’s leading to a new chapter in their ministry lives. Nancy and her family moved to Danville in January and Nancy officially joined our staff in February 2006.
