STATEMENT of PURPOSE
PREAMBLE

In gratitude and prayerful dependence upon God, we seek to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. We desire to know and do God’s will in our life together, both now and in the future. We believe that God has raised up this Church for an important purpose in the world. We want to be prayerful, intentional and thoughtful as we fulfill our calling as a congregation, remaining committed to and directed by our 4-Fold Purpose:

We believe in the living Christ who sends us into the world empowered by His Holy Spirit to live as His disciples, to express God’s saving love and to extend His kingdom by being a:

WORSHIPPING CONGREGATION

As a worshipping congregation we present ourselves to God in spirit and truth as He transforms our lives.

HEALING COMMUNITY

As a healing community of forgiven sinners, we love one another toward spiritual, personal and relational wholeness.

EQUIPPING CENTER

As an equipping center, we shall mature in Christ-like character, develop a Biblically shaped world view and strengthen our gifts and ability to fulfill God’s call in our lives.

MISSION FELLOWSHIP

As a mission fellowship, we are God’s witnesses in our community, nation and world, making disciples of Jesus and extending the kingdom of God. Mission is Ministry beyond our membership

CPC has joined with 15 other churches in the San Ramon Valley to accomplish the Valley Vision:

We intend to be a catalyst to double the percentage of people in the San Ramon Valley who confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, are connected to a Christian Church, and who are contributing to Christ's cause.

Affiliations - Community Presbyterian Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church USA.
