Shepherd’s Gate has earned a reputation in Northern California for rebuilding shattered lives. Since 1984, they have helped thousands of homeless women and children. They provide a safe haven for women and their children who are homeless because of abusive relationships, addictions, loss of financial support and other factors. United Council of Human Services

The United Council of Human Services has been a Mobile Outreach Program in San Francisco for over 20 years. They serve the needs of thousands of homeless, at-risk of being homeless and low-income people. They endeavor to see that these people get their physical, mental and spiritual needs met, as well as seeking to enhance the general welfare of the people by providing shelter, food, clothing, counseling, life skills and job readiness. The Bayview Hunters Point Multi Service Drop-in center serves as a gateway for clients in that area.

 

Valley Pregnancy Center

Valley Pregnancy Center (VPC) is a non-profit organization offering free counseling and compassionate support to women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. By providing a safe and caring environment, the VPC is here to assist women who may not be aware of all their options. We offer accurate information and support services that allow you to make an informed decision. Services are also available to your family and to the father of your baby. World Impact

World Impact is located in West Oakland and ministers to children and families who are low-income and are primarily African-American, Spanish speaking and Cambodians. Volunteers and interns assist in the after school and summer activities. Bible teaching, sports, music, computers, crafts, cooking, games, piano lessons, tutoring, and a reading club are a regular part of the program for kindergarten through eighth grade. They also have Adult Bible study and teen clubs. Volunteers are always needed. The ministry has opened a thrift store and a sidewalk coffee café where community members can shop for low cost food, kitchen supplies, and clothes or they can sit and talk and enjoy a free cup of coffee.
