Questions for Sermon on
March 27-28

Thank you for joining us in our study of Luke. Our prayer is that each of you will follow the weekly readings and join together with others to discuss the questions sent to you each week in this email.  Look for our emails each Monday in preparation for the upcoming sermon the following weekend. Our hope is that you will see God working in your life and in others around you and you will be able to take your next step in following Jesus.

The sermon this weekend, March 27th / 28th, will be on Luke 19:28-48 The questions below are to be used for your small group meeting that relates to this sermon.

1) How is God changing your life?

2) Read Luke 19: 28-34.Notice the detailed instruction Jesus gives to His disciples. What had to bepre-planned by Jesus? What does this tell you about the significance of thisevent for Jesus?

4) Read Luke 19: 41-44. How does the fact that Jesus was weeping affect your impression of His heart and attitude as He spoke these words?

5) Read Luke 19: 45-48. Why was Jesus angry about what was happening in the temple? What was its significance in light of what Jesus was about to do on the cross?

6) Like the crowd, we sometimes have expectations of Jesus that are not met in the way we had hoped. Can you think of a time like that? What did you learn?

7) Spend some time talking about the themes of compassion, judgment and sacrifice that you see in this passage (especially in verses 41-46).

8) As we approach this final week of Jesus' life, talk about ideas you have to make it more personally meaningful. Share your ideas with each other and pray together about it.
