NEHEMIAH ALL CHURCH STUDY
"Determined to Make a Difference"

nehemiah

Pastor Scott Farmer is encouraging everyone to join a small group for the Sermon Series on Nehemiah which begins March 29-30 and lasts 6 weeks. If you are not already in a small group, there are new small groups forming. To join a small group, look for the sign up boards on the patio between the services. On the patio you may also purchase the study guide, "The Courage to Face Opposition" by Don Fields (Lifeguide). The study guides are also available in the office during the week.

What is a "small group?"

Small groups consist of 6 to 12 people who meet regularly to study the Bible, share their lives, pray for one another, and serve Christ together. Groups are facilitated by a member of the group, or the responsibility is shared by all. Facilitator training sessions are held during the year to help equip people for leadership of a group or to prepare for a study.

What kinds of groups are available?

People in some groups are similar as to age and life-stage. Other groups are what we call “mixed”, with couples and singles of different ages. Some groups are based on affinity, such as being in the choir, having children of similar age, or living in the same neighborhood. One main factor in choosing a group is your time availability.

We love to encourage people to form their own groups based on their interest. We can help with facilitator training and resources. Many groups have been formed during Next Step Membership classes. We believe anyone at CPC who desires to be part of a small group community will find just the right fit. It is possible to change groups as your needs change.

How do I get connected to a small group or start my own?

We have over eighty groups now and are always looking to form new ones. During the fall and spring, we have a time for group sign-ups, we start new groups, and post the open groups on the website. At other times you can get connected to a small group by contacting Janice Stordahl, Small Group Coordinator at 925 855-1367 x318 or email janice@cpcdanville.org.

We truly believe strength, growth and stability in life come from “knowing and being known, celebrating and being celebrated, serving and being served, loving and being loved,” which is possible by participating in small groups. Life is better in community!
